Recently, Book Outlet had a boxing day sale where everything in the store was 50% off. Obviously, I took advantage of this opportunity and bought a bunch of books.
I’ve already read Clockwork Prince but didn’t previously own it. This way, if I ever want to cry about how much Will, Jem, and Tessa all love each other, I’ll have this book readily available.
Melina Marchetta’s Jellicoe Road was one of my favorite reads of 2014 (my review is scheduled and should be posting any day now) so I’m really looking forward to Looking for Alibrandi and Saving Francesca. She really has a gift for creating memorable characters and for making me really sad.
What Goes Around is actually a bind-up of two books: Some Girls Are and Cracked Up to Be. Courtney Summers is not afraid to make things dark, so whenever I read this one I’ll make sure to have tissues ready.
There are few things I love more than a good fairy-tale retelling, and since I haven’t read on in a while, I’m hoping Juliet Marillier’s Wildwood Dancing will fill that hole for me, especially since her Sevenwaters Saga is one of my favorite fantasy series.
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion appears to be a zombie book from the point of view of a zombie, which is such an intriguing concept I just had to give it a try.
I’ve heard so much praise for Eleanor and Park that it’s about time I finally read it! I loved Fangirl, so I have high expectations for this one. This is another one I think will make me cry.
Vicious is hands-down the book I’m most excited about. The cover is beautiful, it’s about superheroes, it deals with what it means to be good or evil, and it’s by an author who has been recommended to me over and over. Basically, I need to read this right-freaking-now.
I’ll Give You the Sun isn’t from Book Outlet–I bought it with store credit as a holiday present for myself. This is another one I’ve been hearing about for months, and stories about family–particularly siblings–tend to destroy me emotionally.
All these books look so beautiful and I can’t wait to start reading them!
