This month I read 17 books and 2 novellas, and I feel pretty good about everything I read, especially since a lot of it was outside of my usual genre preference.
Favorite Book: Defying Doomsday. A really interesting premise with varied, enthralling short stories.
Least Favorite Book: Time Between Us. I expected a time travel novel to have much higher stakes; as it was, I was just bored.
Most Fun Book: The Trials of Apollo. I will never get tired of Rick Riordan’s writing, ever.
Most Heartwarming Book: Run. Girl friendship, always. The end of For Darkness Shows the Stars also made me super happy.
Most Painful Book: An Ember in the Ashes. Even on rereading, that third trial was just too much.
Most Surprising Book: Dread Locks. Incredibly scary and twisty.
Characters of the Month: Charlotte (the perfect modern Sherlock adaptation; extraordinary but stil so human), Bo (my daughter who I will protect), Amanda (my other daughter who I will protect), Apollo (what a loser I love him)
OTPs of the Month: Jamie/Charlotte, Aly/Zed, and Kai/Elliot all make my heart really happy.
Friendship of the Month: Bo and Agnes, Apollo and Meg, Lily and Rose
Book I’ll Try Really Hard to Get to Next Month: THE WINNER’S KISS (for real this time), The Lies of Locke Lamora (also for real this time)
This month I read 8 books, 1 Graphic Novel and 1 Novella. I was on a roll my friends! Not to mention I got completely hooked on Katie McGarry.
Favorite Book: This isn’t fair I read so many great ones ugh. Um… I think I’m gonna have to go with Crash Into You, it barely squeezed past The Fixer, but like I just really ship them.
Least Favorite Book: Snow White: A Graphic Novel. It had SO MUCH potential but ultimately fell flat.
Most Fun Book: The Trials of Apollo. Good god I haven’t laughed so hard in such a long time.
Most Heartwarming Book: Soldier. Really it was such a calm, easy reading experience I was happy.
Most Painful Book: Dare You To. I knew it’d be fine in the end but, UGH I didn’t want Beth to keep running.
Most Surprising Book: The Fixer/The Long Game! I was not expecting such an intense ride! I was expecting something much, much simpler. But I have to say I really loved it. I really need that third book to be a thing too!
Characters of the Month: All of Katie McGarry’s characters. They’re wonderful, they’re so well written and just wow I love this author and I’m now reading everything.
OTPs of the Month: Isaiah/Rachel. Ryan/Beth. Ember/Garret.
Friendship of the Month: So the friendship went through hell and is just now getting back on it’s feet but Isiah/Beth they’re good for each other as friends.
Book I’ll Try Really Hard to Get to Next Month: The rest of Katie McGarry’s work, along with several of the ARCs I’m SUPER excited for!
