After a supernatural showdown with a serial killer, Evie O’Neill has outed herself as a Diviner. Now that the world knows of her ability to “read” objects, and therefore, read the past, she has become a media darling, earning the title, “America’s Sweetheart Seer.” But not everyone is so accepting of the Diviners’ abilities…

Meanwhile, mysterious deaths have been turning up in the city, victims of an unknown sleeping sickness. Can the Diviners descend into the dreamworld and catch a killer?

Why am I waiting? Maybe because the first book came out in 2013 and now it’s 2015 and this book just keeps getting pushed further and further back because publishing companies everywhere are trying to kill me. (See also: The Raven King, Tell the Wind and Fire). It doesn’t help that a couple of weeks ago, I was this close to getting an e-arc at NetGalley and I was literally two minutes late.

I don’t actually remember the events of The Diviners all that well–I’m planning to reread it this summer in preparation–but what I do remember is excellent: a dynamic cast of characters (featuring quite a few awesome ladies!), a vivid historical setting, and a delightfully creepy atmosphere. It’s been nearly two years, and I am quite ready for more.

I’m also ready for the old cover design to come back, because the new covers are not even remotely as good.

So what are you waiting to read? Sound off in the comments!
