Book

Beware the goblin men and the wares they sell.

All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.

But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says. Without sacrifice, nothing good can grow. Without death, there can be no rebirth. In exchange for her sister’s freedom, Liesl offers her hand in marriage to the Goblin King. He accepts.

Down in the Underground, Liesl discovers that the Goblin King still inspires her—musically, physically, emotionally. Yet even as her talent blossoms, Liesl’s life is slowly fading away, the price she paid for becoming the Goblin King’s bride. As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world.

WIW1) Look at how beautiful the cover is!

2) Creepy-ish magical underworld!

3) This book will probably make me cry a lot.

4) Music is apparently an overarching theme, which is always a pull for me.

5) Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies. I haven’t rewatched it in a long time, and I’m excited for this book to bring me back to the story.

Book

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland — the infamous Queen of Hearts — she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen.

At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king’s marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship.

Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

Wait, I’ll wait for y’all to be surprised that I’m waiting on Heartless. Go ahead, work up that surprised face so that you can really show it off. It’s all good. Nope? Can’t do it? Alright I’ll let you slide. Because I know with the way that I love The Lunar Chronicles and the way that I love Marissa Meyer it’s so hard to believe that I’m crazy excited for this one.

I really can’t wait to see what Marissa does now that TLC is over, to see what she can do from here, I know she’s going to have an amazing career in front of her and I just can’t wait to move forward with her.

For fans of The Princess Bride comes the comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey.

Lady Jane Grey, sixteen, is about to be married to a total stranger—and caught up in an insidious plot to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But that’s the least of Jane’s problems. She’s about to become Queen of England. Like that could go wrong.

Confession time. I’ve already read this one. You can read my review of it here. But I’m still seriously waiting on my finished copy. Because this book you guys. Seriously. It’s officially one of my all time favorites and I can already see myself reaching for it all the time to reread and be simply happy.

This is one of those amazing, rare books, just trust me, preorder this one now. Wait with me for those finished copies. Then come talk to me about it because I need to talk to people about this book.

Book

On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a “witchery,” a magical skill that sets them apart from others.

Windwitch continues the tale begun in Truthwitch, with a focus on Merik–cunning privateer, prince, windwitch, and reader favorite.

WIWOkay fine we don’t have an official synopsis, but we DO have a cover, AND LOOK AT THAT COVER. LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT MERIK. LOOK AT HIM. UGH.

It’s no secret that Truthwitch has come to mean a lot to me but still guys, this series is amazing and I just need this finished book in my life so I can sit it with Safi and I can read it and I can just keep going with this amazing journey that Sooz has started.
