Presented by James Patterson’s new children’s imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion…

Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.

Adrian Piper is used to blending into the background at his Texas high school. He may be a talented artist, a sci-fi geek, and gay, but those traits only bring him the worst kind of attention.

In fact, the only place he feels free to express himself is at his drawing table, crafting a secret world through his own Renaissance art-inspired superhero, Graphite.

But in real life, when a shocking hate crime flips his world upside-down, Adrian must decide what kind of person he wants to be. Maybe it’s time to not be so invisible after all—no matter how dangerous the risk.

In Draw the Line, Laurent Linn’s debut novel, he writes a charged story—illustrated with his own extraordinary drawings—about discovering your own superpowers, deciding how to use them, and where to draw the line.

WIW
I’d never heard of this book before TLA where I was able to get a signed copy, it’s now a book I can’t wait to dive into. I have the feeling that it’s gonna be really hard to read, but also really going to hit a lot of amazing notes. I can’t wait to see how this book develops and I hope that it not only delivers on what I’m hoping, but that it also bring a voice to some really great issues we’re all dealing with.

I do know that this book is probably going to be one of those that waits until I’m feeling the right mood for something like this, because I highly doubt it’s gonna be light and fluffy.

Across the great Madion Sea, Captain Theo Kallistrate dreams of a day when she is no longer bound by conscription to fight for her country’s independence. But when the Kylaens threaten, honor and duty call her to the front lines to fight off the oppressors.

When an air skirmish goes wrong, both Theo and Galian crash on a remote island hundreds of miles from either nation. Grievously injured, Theo must rely on Galian’s medical expertise, and Galian must rely on Theo’s survival skills, to live another day in a harsh and unforgiving terrain.

Can they put aside their differences long enough to survive? Or will the war that brought them to the island tear them apart?

The Island is the first in a new romance trilogy by S. Usher Evans, author of the Razia series and Empath.

I got three reasons why I’m super excited for this book. Number one LOOK AT THAT COVER. LOOK AT IT. It’s creepy and haunting, and yet looks awesome.

Second reason READ THAT DESCRIPTION, SERIOUSLY. C’mon this screams ship them already.

Now just tell me how amazing this sounds, okay? Exactly. It sounds that good. Like dude give me this book already.

Okay now my third reason is because Evans is like one of the sweetest kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, and I absolutely cannot wait to sink into this novel.

Moving to a space station at the edge of the galaxy was always going to be the death of Hanna’s social life. Nobody said it might actually get her killed.

Hanna Donnelly is the station captain’s pampered daughter; Nik Malikov the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. But while the pair are struggling with the realities of life aboard the galaxy’s most boring space station, little do they know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right toward Heimdall, carrying news of the Kerenza invasion.

When an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are thrown together to defend their home. But alien predators are picking off the station residents one by one, and a malfunction in the station’s wormhole means the space-time continuum might be ripped in two before dinner. Soon Hanna and Nik aren’t just fighting for their own surivival; the fate of everyone on the Hypatia—and possibly the known universe—is in their hands.

But relax. They’ve totally got this. They hope.

WIW
So I have a SMALL obsession with Illuminae. Small enough that I’ve made everyone read it and sort of have an amazing tote bag that I take everywhere with me. I just really LOVE this book. I’ve been wary and excited for the second one, we’ll have to see how it works with new characters(Lord knows I L O V E The Lunar Chronicles which does the same thing). But no matter what happens I’m crazy excited to see all of the new details that the authors are working on to create something really exciting! I loved the way Illuminae was set up with all of these files pieced together and I can’t wait to see the new kinds of files included in Gemina!

Essentially JUST GIVE ME THIS BOOK ALREADY.

Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children
No Solicitations

Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere… else.

But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.

Nancy tumbled once, but now she’s back. The things she’s experienced… they change a person. The children under Miss West’s care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.

But Nancy’s arrival marks a change at the Home. There’s a darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it’s up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of the matter.

No matter the cost.

WIWThe summary looks so fascinating! Books that explore and deconstruct fairy tale tropes are always a must-read for me. Also, it’s by Seanan McGuire, who I’ve heard absolutely amazing things about. (I keep meaning to read more of her books, but so far the only one I’ve read is Feed, which she wrote as Mira Grant and which features a badass reporter who looks for truth against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse and which I absolutely loved). Oh, and according to her twitter, the main character in this series is asexual!

Synopsis:

Cursed with a horoscope that promises a marriage of Death and Destruction, sixteen-year-old Maya has only earned the scorn and fear of her father’s kingdom. Content to follow more scholarly pursuits, her world is upheaved when her father, the Raja, arranges a wedding of political convenience to quell outside rebellions. But when her wedding takes a fatal turn, Maya becomes the queen of Akaran and wife of Amar. Yet neither roles are what she expected. As Akaran’s queen, she finds her voice and power. As Amar’s wife, she finds friendship and warmth.

But Akaran has its own secrets – thousands of locked doors, gardens of glass, and a tree that bears memories instead of fruit. Beneath Akaran’s magic, Maya begins to suspect her life is in danger. When she ignores Amar’s plea for patience, her discoveries put more than new love at risk – it threatens the balance of all realms, human and Otherworldly.

Now, Maya must confront a secret that spans reincarnated lives and fight her way through the dangerous underbelly of the Otherworld if she wants to protect the people she loves.

The Star-Touched Queen is a lush, beautifully written and vividly imagined fantasy inspired by Indian mythology.

Did you READ that description guys??? Reincarnation, trees with magic, just like five million things that scream “THIS IS A SONDRA BOOK!” I can’t wait to get my hands on this book because all of that just looks so good. I’m really hoping for some amazing prose in this book as well. Cause lets be honest that just adds to the list of things that makes this book perfect for me.

Synopsis:

Heidi Heilig’s debut teen fantasy sweeps from modern-day New York City to nineteenth-century Hawaii to places of myth and legend. Sixteen-year-old Nix has sailed across the globe and through centuries aboard her time-traveling father’s ship. But when he gambles with her very existence, it all may be about to end. The Girl from Everywhere, the first of two books, will dazzle readers of Sabaa Tahir, Rae Carson, and Rachel Hartman.

Nix’s life began in Honolulu in 1868. Since then she has traveled to mythic Scandinavia, a land from the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, modern-day New York City, and many more places both real and imagined. As long as he has a map, Nix’s father can sail his ship, The Temptation, to any place, any time. But now he’s uncovered the one map he’s always sought—1868 Honolulu, before Nix’s mother died in childbirth. Nix’s life—her entire existence—is at stake. No one knows what will happen if her father changes the past. It could erase Nix’s future, her dreams, her adventures . . . her connection with the charming Persian thief, Kash, who’s been part of their crew for two years. If Nix helps her father reunite with the love of his life, it will cost her her own.

In The Girl from Everywhere, Heidi Heilig blends fantasy, history, and a modern sensibility with witty, fast-paced dialogue, breathless adventure, and enchanting romance.

WIW
Guuuuyyyysssss. If you haven’t heard of this book you’re probably one of the last few. But this book it looks so amazing! Who doesn’t want time travel right?? I love the idea of traveling on a ship through time, all using old maps. I mean, for me I’d probably rather use a TARDIS than have to maintain an actual ship. But hey, if it meant time travel I think I’d be up for just about anything.

I’m just saying the first place I would go is the opening of Disney World in Florida. Then I’d probably try and go into the future and just buy all of the books (Including this one) and get all of the season sets of my favorite shows to bring back home and then just read and binge to my hearts content. What about you all? Where would you want to go?

WIW

The Darkest Minds was an amazing series and seeing it end last year was very emotional for me, so I’m excited to have more Alexandra Bracken words (and Alexandra Bracken pain) in my life in the form of this time travel adventure! The cover is gorgeous, and I can tell from the excerpts I’ve read that I will absolutely love the dynamic between the two main characters. Alexandra Bracken is just brilliant at characters and relationships that develop naturally and beautifully and break my heart and put it back together again.

All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

IS THERE REALLY ANYTHING I NEED TO SAY HERE?

Actually, yes. There is one thing. None of my children are allowed to die permanently. I realize one of them is already dead, so I’ll make an allowance for nothing bad happening to him ever again instead. Are we clear, Maggie Stiefvater?

(I’m joking, I’m joking. Maggie Stiefvater’s ability to cause me pain is one of the many reasons I adore her.)

Also, kissing. All the kissing. Adam and Ronan kissing. Blue and Gansey kissing. This is non-negotiable.

PS: While making this, I actually looked up the date, and WHAT DO YOU MEAN APRIL? It was supposed to come out February! [vibrates with irritation]
